YOG updates - news from Calema and Tunisia
Posted On:  06/02/2010 8:12:29 PM
There is one more week to apply for charter equipment, supplied by Bic Sport, for use in the forthcoming North American Championships, part of the 25th Calema Midwinters festival, Merritt Island, Florida, USA.

Hosts Calema Windsurfing are also offering a coaching clinic in the run up to the event, which is also a qualifier, for nations, into the 2010 Youth Olympic Games. The clinic is open to any competitor, from any country.

This is a particularly important event for USA competitors - as it is also the event designated by US Sailing for selecting the sailors to go to Singapore.  US Sailing have already made the decision to send a boy and a girl windsurfer, should they qualify, to the YOG.  Only 2 places are available per nation.

Charter equipment is also available for the first African Championships, and YOG qualifier, which will be held in Tunisia from 22nd-28th March.  To ensure the right equipment can be delivered on time all applications must be received 20th February.

Competitors are reminded of the pre-entry deadline - 1st March.

The hosts - Club Nautique de Sidi Bou Said - are looking forward to welcoming competitors from both Africa, Europe and further afield, to this inaugural IWA Windsurfing Festival.
