South American championship 2017 - Highlights

Club Nautico San Isidro hosted South American windsurfing championships 2017. Beautiful but very challenging location, venue of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, tested all participants in variety of condition during the week and best took home the titles. For some highlight of their career, for most only another stop on their windsurfing journey.

The 2018 Australian Youth National Championships have just commenced at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron on lovely Moreton Bay.  These championships include the Bic Techno293 Oceania Championships and we have 26 under 19 year olds from 3 nations, NZ, Indonesia and Australia. For sailors competing on the T283 Plus this is the Youth Olympic Games Qualifier for Oceania.

Beautiful conditions, sunny and warm, 8 to 12 knots from the north east for the practice race continue as competition begins in earnest.

Max van der Zalm from New Zealand started the regatta with three bullets to be three points ahead of Aussie Alex Halank. Queenslander Hailey Lea had a consistent day to be the first female and fourth overall.
