At the 2007 Class AGM a proposal was agreed that the Class should undertake a selection process that will enable the introduction of one design rigs for the U15 and U17 divisions in international championships.

The objective is to launch the one design rigs during 2008. At the 2008 World Championships, to be held in Sopot, Poland, 9th-16th August, the intention is for competitors to be limited to using the One Design rigs; and for charter rigs to be available for every competitor requiring them.

A working party has been set up by the International Class Committee to select a suitable supplier and then to work with that company to agree a clear framework for delivery of the one design rigs.

That selection process is underway.

The process requires potential suppliers to prepare a written proposal, containing details of its proposed solution, together with responses to specific requirements defined by the working party.

It is expected that the preferred supplier will be selected by January 5^th 2008, and will be required to attend the official launch during the New Years Race, Cadiz.
